
TV - Master of wit and wordplay Stephen Fry won two awards at this year's National Television Awards.
The first award was presented by outgoing Doctor Who David Tennant for Best Star Travel Documentary as voted for by the public. Stephen won for his BBC1 programme Stephen Fry in America. Stephen exclaimed "OMG" upon accepting the award.

He was then surprised later in the evening with a Special Recognition Award. The touching tributes came from HRH the Prince of Wales, Alan Davies, Hugh Laurie, Jo Brand and Daniel Radcliffe. As he approached the podium he upped his exclamation to "OMFG".
He said that he had been "extremely lucky" and that people would look back at this time as a "golden age" of television, where people could "try out new ideas" and "be silly".
Stephen was praised for his documentaries including the frank portrayal he gave of his manic depression.
