Music - Peppermint has just released her debut album, aptly titled ´Hardcore Glamour` and has recently been on tour all over Europe, receiving an amazing reception in London, being welcomed by the likes of Dusty O, Tasty Tim and Boy George. She is New York's hardest working drag act doing shows every day of the week at various bars and clubs and being an all round well liked and loved entertainer and established part of the NYC LGBT community.
Ask any gay boy who delved into NYC´s nightlife for even just one night - the chances are they saw Peppermint hosting at Therapy, Barracuda or Splash for example working her thing, keeping the laughs coming, singing, dancing, even rapping and looking amazing at every step! To boot she is one of the nicest people you would ever have the pleasure of meeting, warm, sincere, kind and considerate - who said all drag queens had to be bitchy?
QS: Describe your album in 10 words.
Peppermint (P): Rock, hip hop, pop, crazy, stupid, peaceful, with anger love and fear = ME
QS: Where did you get the name Peppermint?
P: I was named for my favourite candy by my first boy crush
QS: You were on tour in Europe recently - how was it? Favourite moments?
P: Yeah, Europe was GREAT, am hooked and want to return! My faves were all the shows and the great energy from people who didn't even know me! Especially getting thumbs up from Boy George as we rode together to our gig! A close second was the make-up store in Berlin - I might have actually died!
QS: What are your plans with the album/singles/videos?
P: I'm focused on making sure all my friends know about the album, and then we will be working on music videos for youtube, MTV/Logo and the clubs!! We just released the video for current single "Working Girl" which we shot on the road in Europe! Hot dance remixes are on the way from Tatsy Tim and of course you, Mr QBoy.
