News - More than 2.000 people are expected for a candle lit vigil against hate crime tomorrow in the heart of London .

On Friday 25th September this year, Ian Baynham, 62, and his friend were subjected to homophobic abuse in Trafalgar Square, London, while they were heading towards Soho for a night out. When Ian decided to challenge this unacceptable behaviour he was violently assaulted by three youths, two women and a man.

Ian later died in hospital of his injuries on the 13th October.

On Sunday night, off-duty policeman James Parkes, 22, was left with multiple skull fractures in Liverpool city centre's gay area after being attacked by about 20 thugs.

They are just two of thousands of people who have been victims of hate crime. In remembrance and in honour of all victims of hate crime the people behind facebook group 17-24-30 (which represents the three dates that three different communities were seperately attacked in London in 1999 by nail bomber David Copeland) are organising a silent candle lit vigil against all forms of hate crime.

The vigil will take place at Trafalgar Square in the heart of London on Friday 30th October between 8 and 10pm. Be there!
