
News - Two people where killed and several wounded when a masked gunman opened fire at a gay youth club in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Saturday.
Police are still hunting a masked gunman who injured several people and killed a 26-year-old youth counsellor and a 17-year-old girl at a gay youth club in Tel Aviv. The gunman shot his victims while they were attending a support group meeting in a basement room at the centre.
The gunman's actions have already been condemned by Israeli president Shimon Peres who called the actions a despicable murder which a cultured and enlightened people cannot accept. Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to bring the gunman to justice and to exercise the full extent of the law against him.
The city of Tel Aviv is one of the most open cities in Israel and has a bustling gay scene. Over the weekend thousands took to the streets and mourned for the victims of the hate crime.
