- The Australian pop princess, who turns 41 today, was chosen Female Gay Icon by the readers of UK magazine GT (Gay Times) in their annual Readers' Awards.

Other awards were for F1 driver Lewis Hamilton who was voted Sports Personality of the Year and Lady Gaga who won the award for Anthem of the Year for her hit Just Dance. The Sexiest Man of the Year award went to Manchester United hunk Cristiano Ronaldo, closely followed by Milk actor James Franco, and olympic diver Matthew Mitcham.

American president Barack Obama was awarded two awards. He received the Hero of the Year award and the Best Politician award.

Other less flattering awards were handed out to British Conservative Party leader David Cameron who picked up the Worst Politician award and his Holiness Pope Benedict who received the Zero of the Year award.

The June issue of GT is out now.
